A Shakespeare theater troupe is traveling to lower Dutchess County to perform.

Brewster, NY.  Aug. 7, 2012. In the ancient tradition of hosting traveling troubadours, H. G. Fairfield Arts is hosting “Strange Bedfellows”, the adult troupe of Palisade, NY’s Children Shakespeare Theater, as they travel up the Hudson River this Saturday, August 11th for a performance in Pawling, NY’s Lakeside Park. Radovich & Dean Music of Carmel, NY, will also be co-hosting the spirited troupe’s 1960’s-themed production of William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

“Big things can happen on stage in little towns,” Kathie Freston, Founder of H. G. Fairfield Arts muses; “Villages have for centuries been preparing for and hosting traveling theater troupes – they were the original news gazettes, as they traveled and met new peoples.” Lakeside Park will host at 7pm Saturday in the Lathrop Building the Town of Pawling’s Summer Recreation Department’s theater performance written and directed by Camille Ludington. “Strange Bedfellows” then hits the stage in the outdoor Pavilion of Lakeside Park at 8:30pm August 11th, 2012.  H. G. Fairfield Arts is harkening back to the “old days” to bring us something new! Audiences are the other piece of the ancient formula of players, stage, & production!

There will be an intermission with concessions at the event, followed by a reception. Support H. G. Fairfield Arts’ Midsummer Mayhem at www.brownpapertickets.com/event/262274.

H. G. Fairfield Arts’ Midsummer Mayhem is just one of the many must-see summer theatrical attractions in Dutchess, Putnam, Westchester Counties, and NY’s Mid-Hudson Valley. “We have a wealth of culture and entertainment, talent and the Arts, all around us;” remarks Ms Freston.
